Catalyst for Change

The V Foundation is incredibly proud to announce that it has been honored with the 2011 “Mannie Jackson’s Basketballs Human Spirit Award.” One of the criteria for this award is to be considered a catalyst for change. We are a growing organization and we believe that we have plenty of potential left to explore, but it is because of our supporters and followers like you that we can have the power to influence the world of cancer research.
This award shows our commitment to not only live the mission of Jim Valvano, but to carry out the core values of the sport that he loved. Of course, one of the most important values in the game of basketball is teamwork. We understand that it is only because of you—because of our event planners, donors, supporters and believers—that we can be honored as a catalyst for change. This award is truly yours. Congratulations.
The V Foundation was awarded this honor as a representative of the amateur ranks. Chauncey Billups and Dr. John “Jumpin’ Johnny” Kline also received this award. Click here to see Nick Valvano accept this award at the 2011 Hall of Fame ceremony.
