The V Foundation Invites Fans to Show Your Spirit! and Join the Fight Against Cancer

Nationwide Fundraiser to Run from March 15th through April 5th

The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research fundraising organizations, has opened registration to businesses, schools and organizations for this year’s Show Your Spirit! fundraiser.  Organizations nationwide are invited to join The V Foundation in the fight against cancer during this event which will last the length of the college basketball tournament season beginning with the day of the first game, March 15, 2011 and continuing until April 5, 2011.

“Show Your Spirit! offers everyone the opportunity to join our team in the fight against cancer,” said Nick Valvano, the CEO of The V Foundation.  “This is an exciting opportunity for people across the nation to join together and work to accelerate cancer research.”

Participation in Show Your Spirit! is open to groups of all sizes.  In order to participate, organizations may register for the event online at Registered organizations may then choose one day during the tournament season as their Show Your Spirit! day.  Once the date has been decided upon, members of the organization may donate a minimum of $5 in order to participate by wearing their favorite teams’ apparel to work or to school.  This year, all program pieces are available at the Show Your Spirit! download center that provide a customizable experience for all participating organizations.  A grant from Nike, Inc. covers all program expenses and allows 100% of all donations to go directly to cancer research.
