The V Foundation Launches Social Media Campaign

Campaign Proceeds Will Fund a Leukemia Grant

The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research fundraising organizations, is proud to announce its 2010 Summer Social Media Campaign to raise $1 million for leukemia research.   The Campaign begins July 8th and will continue through August 7th.  During this time, The V Foundation will focus on raising money through social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

“With the increased use of social media and networking, this campaign is a great way to spread the word about the latest developments and progress in cancer research in hopes of raising money for a leukemia grant,” said Nick Valvano, CEO of The V Foundation for Cancer Research. “It will keep us connected with our supporters as we seek their help to battle this disease.”

The V Foundation will produce a one minute video optimized for the web and push the message through all social channels.  To help promote the campaign, The V Foundation is partnering with Stanford, Bazaarvoice, 24 Hour Fitness and other corporate partners.  Some of the media outlets used will be Twitter, Facebook, blogs written by Nick Valvano and YouTube.
