ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic Raises $1 Million for The V Foundation for Cancer Research

Celebrities from sports and entertainment gathered for Team ESPN’s 12th annual ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic, helping to raise $1 million in net proceeds for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The total was announced onsite at the Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms in Industry Hills, Calif. by George Bodenheimer, Executive Chairman, ESPN.

“The devastating effects of cancer continue to motivate us while the spirit and commitment at this event inspire us,” Bodenheimer said. “The celebrities, volunteers and sponsors collectively make a powerful statement in this important, ongoing fight.”

Nick Valvano, V Foundation CEO and brother of Jim Valvano, added, “As always, The V Foundation extends our gratitude to our ESPN family for their unwavering commitment to our cause. My brother Jim knew that beating cancer would require a team, and we could not ask for a better partner.”
