#XGames4V

Wouldn’t it be nice to be in Los Angeles right now getting ready for the big X Games bash?  That’s a yes for me, but The V Foundation crew will be there in spirit tonight as X Games athletes meet and greet fans, all to raise money for cancer research.

The opening celebration will feature two-time X Games gold medalist Mat Hoffman, who was inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame last week.  Hoffman along with Ryan Nyquist, Gretchen Bleiler, Tucker Hibbert, Tricia Byrnes and Jen Hudak, have becomee spokespeople of The V Foundation in the past year.

Hoffman, who is now 40, has been credited with shaping BMX freestyle contests into what they are now and even helped build better and more affordable bikes for the sport in the early ’90s.  What a lot of people don’t see when they look at Hoffman’s legendary career, is that he lost his mom to cancer when he was 18. Hoffman said this is the reason he’s proud to support The V Foundation.

Tonight’s kick-off party at the Regal Cinema in L.A. will raise money for The V Foundation and the STAPLES Center Foundation.  Make sure you stay in touch with the six athletes showing their V Foundation support by keeping up with our official Twitter hashtag — #XGames4V.
