Cancer Awareness

Yes, We’re Going There!

Colorectal Cancer.

Yes. I said it. There are some types of cancer people just don’t want to talk about. And if you think people don’t want to talk about colon cancer, they really don’t want to talk about the best way to prevent it.

A recent study by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York showed that having a colonoscopy cuts the risk of death from colon cancer in half. The study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine and you can find CBS.com’s article about it here.

For the past two decades, death from colorectal cancer has been on the decline but 143,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year.

So, since March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month maybe you should pass along this blog post or even some of the most recent facts. Either way, let’s raise some awareness!
