May = National Cancer Research Month
May is National Cancer Research Month and here is some useful information to understand about National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers. Becoming a NCI-designated cancer center is not something that can happen overnight. It takes several years to build the research facilities and researchers needed to meet the rigorous review process and is a recognition of scientific excellence and of outstanding leadership.
“These cancer centers put significant resources into developing research programs, faculty, and facilities that will lead to better approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.” – NCI Designated Cancer Centers
We are proud to have awarded grants at 62 of the 67 NCI-designated cancer centers.
