Apple Gold Group Launches 8th Annual Fundraiser for The V Foundation
North Carolina Applebee’s Restaurants Goal to Raise $200,000 for Cancer Research
The Apple Gold Group, Raleigh based franchisee of Applebee’s Grill and Bar, proudly announces the launch of its eighth annual March fundraiser in support of The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The fundraiser will run from March6th through April 7th during the men’s and women’s ACC and NCAA Basketball Tournaments. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised through Applebee’s go to The V Foundation to continue pediatric cancer research at Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, through a grant established in Applebee’s name.
Guests who dine at any of Apple Gold’s 52 participating Applebee’s locations in North Carolina will be invited to donate $1 or more to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. For each dollar donated, guests will be given a paper basketball to personalize and hang in the restaurant. In the spirit of tournament season, guests may choose from several different basketballs representing Duke, UNC, NC State and other local universities.
“This fundraiser provides an opportunity for our team members, neighbors and communities to partner in the pursuit for a cure to a disease that touches all of our lives,” said Michael Olander, President and CEO of the Apple Gold Group. “We are proud to work with The V Foundation and aim to do so in a way that brings our community together during tournament season.”
Over the past seven years, the Apple Gold Group has raised nearly $900,000 for The V Foundation’s fight against cancer and has a goal of raising another $200,000 this year with the help and generosity of Applebee’s guests and team members.
“The battle against cancer can’t be fought alone,” said Susan Braun, CEO of The V Foundation for Cancer Research. “We are so thankful for The Apple Gold Group, their employees and the generous support of their guests who are coming together to help us fight cancer in a big way. We can’t thank them enough for what they are doing!”
