Vitale Gala Makes a Play Against Cancer
Article by Katie Sweet
Syracuse University men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim, Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith and Florida State University football coach Jimbo Fisher share a passion beyond game strategies and ball passes. Each has been touched in a different way by the monster we fight. And, each has drawn his own game plan in the mission to end cancer.
Dick Vitale will honor these three coaches – and their X’s and O’s in the offense on cancer – at his 10th Annual Dick Vitale Gala on May 15 in Sarasota, Florida.
Dick Vitale speaks at last year’s Gala
Dick’s galas have raised more than $12 million for pediatric cancer research, and he makes sure you have a hell-of-a-time doing it. From enjoying live entertainment to rubbing elbows with celebrities and athletes, no detail is overlooked. This year will feature legendary musical group Blood, Sweat and Tears.
One lucky winner will have the parting gift of a lifetime. A limited number of raffle tickets are available for a suggested $100 donation for each ticket. The winning ticket holder will drive away with a white 2015 Mercedes-Benz E400A convertible, valued at $62,275.
Tickets to the Dick Vitale Gala are available here and are expected to sell out quickly again this year. Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of a spectacular evening – one in which you can say you joined Dick’s team of cancer fighters!
