While breast cancer in the United States is highest in white women, the rate of death and bad forms of
cancer are higher in black women. Unfortunately, there are not enough black women in clinical trials,
which slows down development of new drugs which may save lives. New Orleans has one of the a
largest black populations in the United States thus can be a large part of research and help change
breast cancer care. The purpose of this research would be to find reasons for low sign up in breast
cancer trials in southeast Louisiana and develop ways to increase African Americans in trials to help
make better treatments
