Our matching gift program allows businesses and/or corporations to contribute to organizations their employees support. You can apply for a matching gift through your company’s Human Resources department or online registration forms.

It can take a few weeks or a few months for the entire matching gift process to be completed. Each business or corporation has their own procedures, which dictate how often matching gifts are sent to the V Foundation.

Many companies offer matching gift programs for employees, some retirees, and even spouses. In 2024 the V Foundation raised over $581K in matching gifts at no extra cost to donors with your help!

A matching gift is when you donate to a nonprofit and your employer matches that gift by sending the same nonprofit a gift of, usually, equal value.

Your money and time are precious. By already donating, you have decided that the V Foundation’s mission is worthy of your support. Matching gifts double your impact in the fight against cancer without costing you extra.

Companies want to make a positive impact in their community, as well as support their employees and what matters to them.

Once the V Foundation receives the matching gift, where does it go? Once the V Foundation receives the matching gift, where does it go?

The V Foundation connects the matching gift to the original donation, making sure the funds go to your original fundraising destination.

For example, if the original donation went towards pediatric cancer research, so will the matching gift.

Absolutely! We fill out our portion of the form and follow the directions to send it to your company.

How long does it take for the V Foundation to receive my matching gift? How long does it take for the V Foundation to receive my matching gift?

This depends on your employer, but most payout in days to a couple of months after the matching gift has been approved. For more specific information, reach out to your employer.

Can I donate to the V Foundation through my employer? Can I donate to the V Foundation through my employer?

Yes, we refer to this as workplace giving. Many employers allow employees to donate to a Nonprofit of their choice. This comes out of your check pre-taxed, may automatically be matched by your employer, and they send it to us. You can even set this up as a recurring monthly donation. No need to do anything else!
