Lesley Visser

Sports Commentator

Lesley Visser is currently a broadcaster and writer for CBS Sports and News and brings years of “game-changing” experience to the sports world.

Visser is the only sportscaster in history to have worked on the Final Four, NBA Finals, World Series, Triple Crown, Monday Night Football, the Olympics, the Super Bowl, the World Figure Skating Championships and the U.S. Open broadcasts. She made history as the first woman to cover several of these events.

As the 2006 recipient of the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award, Visser was the first woman to be recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The award recognizes long-time exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football.

In 2009, Visser was voted the Best Female Sportscaster of all-time in a poll taken by the American Sportscaster Association. She was named Outstanding Women’s Sportswriter in America in 1983, won the Women’s Sports Foundation Award for Journalism in 1992 and received the first Pioneer Award from the Association for Women in Sports Media the same year.
