Uncle Dino’s 2026 NCAA Bracketology Pool

Uncle Dino is an alumnus of the other Harvard of the South – North Carolina State University! He graduated with a degree in accounting. Former NC State Wolfpack basketball Head Coach Jim Valvano made Uncle Dino’s years at NC State memorable in many ways, not to mention the NC State Wolfpack victory against The University of Houston or “Phi Slama Jamma” for the Men’s Basketball NCAA Championship. Uncle Dino is Tom Kelly, an AI and Cloud Computing enthusiast. Yes, office pools are fun, but doing so for the greater good is more than fun…it’s a great thing to do! Uncle Dino has operated this pool since 1986! He started with stone tablets, then paper, then moved to an IBM PC (a very dark period in Uncle Dino’s life), then a Mac…and finally found a home in the Cloud with help from his friends at PickHoops.

Davidson Memorial Golf Outing

My grandfather, Ed Davidson, loved the game of golf… from watching it weekly on tv, reading articles in Sports Illustrated, or hitting chip shots in his backyard. My grandfather had so much love for the game, but especially enjoyed the rounds he played with his friends, sons, and grandsons. When he passed away in September of 2019, I told myself I wanted to do more for the V Foundation. Like Jim Valvano said in his famous ESPYs speech, “It may not save my life. It may save my children’s lives. It may save someone you love.” We weren’t able to save my grandfather’s life, but I urge you to participate in this golf outing. If you can’t do that, then please donate because you will be able to save someone you love. The five year history of the Davidson Memorial Golf Outing has raised nearly $42,000 in support of the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Please join us again this year as we continue the fight against cancer and honor Ed.

University of Kentucky Groundhogs Day Barcrawl

The University of Kentucky Groundhog Day Bar Crawl was founded in 2024 by a group of students looking to create a fun, memorable way to celebrate the weekend with friends. Since then, the event has grown each year, and for the 3rd Annual Crawl, we’re proud to donate proceeds from shirt sales to The V Foundation. Groundhog Day may be an under-appreciated holiday, but bringing people together for a night out across multiple bars has become a tradition we look forward to. This year using that tradition to help fight the battle against cancer makes it even more meaningful. We believe this event is the perfect way for students to support an incredible cause while enjoying the college experience and doing what they’d already be doing on a weekend night. Join us, help us reach our fundraising goals, and have an unforgettable night while making a real impact.
