Norby Williamson

Norby Williamson previously served as the Executive Vice President of Production for ESPN, Inc. He was responsible for Production Operations, Remote Operations, Stats and Information, Creative and Studio Direction, ESPN International production and ESPN Deportes production. From May 2015, when he assumed his current role, until July 2016, he also managed ESPN Audio and ESPN2’s daytime studio programs (Mike & Mike, First Take, His & Hers). He had previously served as executive vice president, production, program scheduling and development since January 2014.

Previously, Williamson served as Executive Vice President, Programming & Acquisitions. He handled rights negotiations and managed relationships with rights holders for all ESPN, Inc. entities.

Williamson joined ESPN, Inc. in 1985 as a Production Assistant in the Studio Production Department. He was later named Executive Vice President of Production. In that role, he was responsible for all ESPN, Inc. and ABC game, event and studio production work with television and radio networks. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President of Studio and Remote Production, overseeing all domestic productions. During Williamson’s career with ESPN, Inc., he has held various positions such as a producer, assistant managing editor and news director, and he has been responsible for major programming initiatives such as Monday Night Football, NASCAR, NBA, MLB, collegiate basketball and collegiate football.

Prior to assuming management responsibilities in 1999, Williamson’s production work on select ESPN, Inc. studio programs received five awards, including Sports Emmy Awards for SportsCenter (1990) and NFL GameDay (1988) and three CableACE Awards for SportsCenter (1990 and 1991) and NFL GameDay (1989).
