Including the V Foundation for Cancer Research in your estate plans will help carry out the V Foundation’s vision to fund extraordinary cancer research and save more lives in the years to come.

Research is transforming the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer like never before. But there is more work to do, and your legacy can make a difference.

Creating your charitable legacy with the V Foundation is easy! There are many ways to give, including naming the V Foundation in your will or trust. No matter how you choose to establish a planned gift with the V Foundation, your generosity will help us achieve victory over cancer.

Please let us know if you have already included the V Foundation in your estate plans. We would love the opportunity to thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Barry Wood’s Legacy of Hope: Donor Committed to Fueling Lifesaving Cancer Research

As a devoted sports fan and lifelong NC State supporter, Barry Woods admired Jim Valvano and the legacy he left behind. Like many, he was deeply moved by Jim’s iconic 1993 ESPYS speech, where Jim inspired millions with his call to action: “Don’t Give Up . . . Don’t Ever Give Up!”® That message stuck with Barry, not just as a quote, but as a philosophy he carried with him when planning his own legacy.

When the time came to decide how to leave his mark, Barry knew part of it had to be with the V Foundation.

His decision to pledge a planned gift was deeply personal, shaped by the cancer journeys of close family and friends. Years ago, Barry’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to early detection and advancements in research, she went on to live many healthy, cancer-free years.
